Gaspar Antuña: High school music teacher, DJ with more than 20 years behind the decks, producer (half of El Barrio DJs with Isaías Sanz), musical journalist (Radio Círculo, Enlace Funk, Electrónica & Roll), booker (Weekend Club, GOA, el Junco, Charada, Mondo Disko and currently berlinClub), and label manager (Appetizers Records of the Wagon Cookin’ duo and Mondo Discos, under the club of the same name).

After more than a decade as resident DJ at Junco Jazz Club, he landed at berlinClub at the beginning of this decade. On top of his monthly session called Papaia Club, he also works as booker for the club, helping define the musical identity and guest DJs, with great response from the club’s faithful crowd.

Recently, through his work as booker and DJ, he’s shared the booth with names the likes of Sadar Bahar, Antal, DJ Kon, Dan Shake, Folamour, Rahaan, Red Greg, Shanti Celeste, Maurice Fulton, Wagon Cookin’, etc.

His always eclectic DJ sets have expanded their tentacles with the passing of time, reflecting the evolution in Gaspar’s tastes: Soul, Disco, Latin, Reggae, and Jazz coexist harmoniously with more contemporary sounds like House, Nu Disco, Deep, and the experimental side of electronica. The slogan of his Papaia Club session, Adult Dance Music, sums up well his idea of what should be heard on a dance floor.
