Nacido en el Bronx en una familia puertorriqueña, empezó a pinchar en el Stardust Ballroom y pasó por cabinas míticas como Pippins, Bentleys, 1018, Limelight o Studio 54. Como muchos DJs de los 70, llevó su pasión al estudio para alargar y reimaginar las canciones: así nacieron sus célebres medleys y remixes.

Junto a Sergio Munzibai formó el tándem M&M, con el que firmó una producción prolífica que marcó una época y escaló las listas de Billboard trabajando para The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Candi Staton, Billy Ocean o Rod Stewart, entre muchos otros. Su huella define la transición del soul al disco y el boogie, y sigue inspirando a generaciones de DJs y productores.

If you grew up in the 80s—or have explored that era—John Morales is a name you know. Born in the Bronx to a Puerto Rican family, he first played at the Stardust Ballroom before holding down booths at Pippins, Bentleys, 1018, Limelight and the legendary Studio 54. Like many 70s DJs, he took his craft to the studio to extend and reimagine tracks, forging his signature medleys and remixes.

With Sergio Munzibai he formed the iconic M&M team, crafting a prolific catalog that climbed the Billboard charts for artists such as The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Candi Staton, Billy Ocean and Rod Stewart. His touch defined the soul-to-disco-to-boogie transition and continues to inspire generations of DJs and producers.
